In September 2023 I stayed in the Westin Warsaw room 1412 a luxurious but aging 20 story 5 star hotel located in the heart of Warsaw, Poland. The property is surrounded by a number of luxury hotels such as the Radisson Collection Hotel Warsaw, NYX Hotel Warsaw and the Intercontinental Warsaw.
Getting to this hotel is easy as the Westin is just a few minutes walking distance from the Rondo ONZ metro stop which is the M2 red line from Bemowo or Bródno every 8-9 minutes or Rondo ONZ 04 tram stop where 17 & 33 stop every 10-15 minutes from 4:17am until 11:51pm. If you are coming from Lotnisko Chopina Warszawa (Warsaw Airport) it’s about 40 minutes by public transport with two changes or 24 minutes in a uber/taxi if you have luggage.
On the 14th floor you have a beautiful view over the city to watch the sunrise with floor to ceiling windows and there is very little street noise considering it’s central location. The Westin is a great hotel because it’s just nearby the Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palace of Culture and Science), also the Złote Tarasy shopping mall and Warsaw Central Railway Station. Many travel reviews might say the hotel is nearby Old Town but it’s more like 19 minutes by tram, 9 minutes in an uber or a 29 minute walk. It’s a bit closer to the Teatr Muzyczny Roma (Roma Musical Theater) if you plan on catching a musical while visiting Warsaw but still 16-20 minute by public transport/walking.
The hotel room had a very comfortable bed and a really decently sized TV with a magical rain shower in the bathroom to start the day.
There is a small desk and couch for working or relaxing with decent WiFi internet speeds but could have more powerpoints. What was unusual for a hotel these days was that the hotel room featured no USB powerpoints. There are also the standard items for a Westin hotel of in-room safe, complementary waters and tea & coffee making facilities.
I think the best thing about this hotel room was access to the executive floor for breakfast that gave you both a relaxing start to the day but also some personalised service for breakfast options. The only annoyance was the often long (15-20 minute waits for the lifts at peak times during the day). The only upside is the striking design features a glass-covered elevator shaft that runs along the outside of the building, offering panoramic views of the city as guests ascend and descend. This architectural feature is one of the hotel’s defining highlights and contributes to its modern and stylish appeal in the Warsaw skyline.
Overall considering it’s age it’s still a beautiful hotel option combined with it’s a great location in Warsaw. And yes I would certainly say I would consider staying here I would stay again ideally with access to the executive floor.
