Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy sits at 12–14 Sukhumvit Soi 29, Klong Toey Nua, Watthana — a quiet side soi just off the main Sukhumvit strip. The location being walking distance from EmSphere and Emporium is a brilliant thing (roughly 8 minutes to Emporium, with EmQuartier and EmSphere completing the EM District) along with just down the road from Phrom Phong BTS station on the Sukhumvit Line. Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT are also within about a 10-minute walk if you need the metro line, and it’s about 5 minutes in a Grab to Makkasan for the Airport Rail Link out to Suvarnabhumi.
The property has 207 studio rooms and suites, all with kitchenettes and separate living areas, which makes it well suited to longer stays and families. The building has two towers and we stayed in the second tower above the El Santo Mexican Restaurant & Bar where you also have breakfast each day. It was good that breakfast was included in our booking but we never ate dinner or lunch at El Santo Mexican Restaurant & Bar as their menu was confusing as it had a different option for dine-in vs room service. Breakfast itself was reasonable, plenty of egg and pastry options but a bit light on the fruit. We did eat at some great Japanese cuisine at Hiko Sushi but sadly the ALL Accor+ Explorer 30% food and 15% drink discount wasn’t eligible at Hiko Sushi. The pool was open from 8am until 8pm (the website says 7am, so check before you head down) and got very busy with the families in the evening and there was never enough pool towels available. There’s a small snack bar and ice cream spot by the pool, and a kids area downstairs where they could do crafting activities or play on the Nintendo Switch.
We were in room 2088 on the 8th floor — a reasonably sized room with a decent sized couch, good enough for the kids to sleep on, and plenty of storage. The kitchenette has a sink, microwave and fridge; if you book a suite you also get a washing machine. Shower pressure was a bit spotty but there’s a bath and toilet in the wet room. Nice city view, a lovely sized smart TV for streaming movies from your phone, and power points either side of the bed, though none of the USB points seemed to work. WiFi was quick at around 600 Mbps.
We had to ask for extra bedding for the sofa and when they came up they brought the bare minimum of a sheet and a pillow… no extra sheet or blanket so we had to ask again the next night as it was too late already and we were tired and wanted to sleep.
There was more noise than expected from the hallway but little noise from the outside which was great considering the location. The a/c had to be running most of the time as the sun heated the room through the large glass window. The room was very well cleaned as was the rest of the hotel. We slept well, with good blackout curtains, a comfortable bed and lovely sheets — Novotel seem to always have good beds.
We did have to ask for extra towels on everyday as we didn’t have enough towels for everyone staying in our room and more toilet paper multiple times which got to be annoying. During our stay our status went up but they said they wouldn’t do anything as the booking was linked to our original status this was a bit of an anti-climax. The hotel was overall nice and the staff were friendly but a big shout out to the friendly security and porters who seemed to be going out of their way at any chance they got to ensure guest satisfaction.
