Lybeer Travellers Hostel

I picked this hostel as it had good reviews and it looked central enough to everything. The only downside is that part of the hostel was under renovations, and while the new bathrooms they have built are amazing I do look forward to seeing how the place looks once they finished all the renovations, the upside is the location is simply brilliant! The only downside was that I had to walk downstairs from my room and into the second building to use the shower and well at this time of the year in europe it’s a little bit cold.

I was pleasantly surprised when I booked a private room and they had an Australian power adapter in my room as I booked with an Australian passport. What a brilliant fine touch and i’d stay here next time I’m visiting! The room was a little small but clean and comfortable enough for a few days.

The hostel is fairly family friendly and there is a good mix of nationalities and understand that it’s also not a party hostel like St Christopher’s Bauhaus. But they are pretty good and ensuring guests have something to do if you want to sample the local Belgian beers.

Sadly there was not enough people interested in the Hostel beer tasting activity on the first night I was staying but they made up for it with a pub crawl on the second night. If you visit make sure you do the “In Brugge” Walking Tour and their pub crawl it’s brilliant fun!

The funniest thing about the place was that I thought I was locked out of the hostel as I had missed the curfew. In fact I might have been a little tipsy and eventually found out that I was trying the wrong door as there is no curfew in this hostel you have 24/7 access.
