I stayed in Room 3506 at the Residence Inn by Marriott New York Downtown Manhattan/Financial District back in Feb 2023. It’s located at 215 Pearl St, New York, NY 10038, USA in the same building as the Four Points by Sheraton Downtown and Courtyard New York Downtown and is a 3 star property. Please don’t get confused with the 4 star Residence Inn New York Downtown Manhattan/World Trade Center Area which is located at 170 Broadway, New York, NY 10007, United States just near the Fulton Street subway exit.
I had a fairly high floor and a reasonably sized room for New York with a view of the Hudson river through the buildings and one of the Brooklyn bridge pillars. There was some construction noise during the day with a building being built opposite the hotel but not too much street noise considering the location of the hotel but it was on the 35th floor so fairly high up.
The room had a large TV but sadly the TV wasn’t functioning and the only option was to swap rooms the next day. As with any Residence Inn there was a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave oven, sink and tea & coffee making facilities.
The room had a decent sized and comfortable bed with a small leather couch on the left hand side to relax on and a mid-sized desk with an office chair to get some work done.
There was a decent amount of power points around the room which sadly isn’t always the case in hotels these days but the great news was the USB power points either side of the bed so you didn’t need an US adapter to charge your phone. There was a reasonable amount of options around the room and a decent sized shower with great water pressure but sadly no rain shower but it’s a 3 star hotel so you don’t expect a rain shower but I’m always hopeful. I liked the hotel as they also had nice soft towels which is always a welcome addition to any hotel stay.
You could hear a little bit of lift noise occasionally but it didn’t stop at my floor too often so overall it was quite a peaceful room and ideal for sleeping off some jetlag. I would say a reasonable room the only real downside was the 10-15 minute wait at peak hours for the lift going up or down and the stairs weren’t really an option with luggage.
Breakfast wasn’t really something to celebrate it was served on paper plates but it was complimentary but a bit of a disappointment considering this is part of the Marriott hotel group. The hotel had breakfast on the 3rd floor from 6:30-930am Monday-Friday and 7-10am Saturday and Sunday but it wasn’t the full buffet style breakfast I was expecting. It had basic items, bagels with toppings, cereal and various other breakfast items but it was a bit disappointing so maybe plan to go out for breakfast and support a local diner like the Pearl Diner opposite the hotel on 212 Pearl St, New York, NY 10038, United States.
