We stayed one night at the former dairy building now known as Niu Dairy as it was good value with rooms from under €70 and was walking distance to the main part of Haarlem. Room 405 was very quite and the hotel felt very modern with fun blue beanbag seat, small desk good enough for writing postcards and a decent sized TV compared to the scale of the room. There was also a Bluetooth speaker for listening to some tunes in your room and a comfortable bed. There was plenty of nods to the Dairy theme with milk bottle lamps by the bed and a gold calf’s head by the window. The non-smoking room had air conditioning and heating and soundproofed windows for the best nights sleep possible.
The Tripster room had a rain shower and reasonable sized bathroom with plenty of considering for space saving ideas considering the small size of the bathroom. The overall room is just 19 m² which makes smart use of space even more important.
The room is very well laid out with enough storage and plenty of natural light, it would be great if more hotel room had this much thought put into their design. The room also has decent free WiFi so you can stream to your hearts content.
Overall it was a very cute little hotel that a few friends have mentioned they have stayed at over the past few years as it’s next to the Patronaat music venue just about 5 minutes walk into the Grote Markt for the Saturday markets. They also welcome dog owners but you have pay a supplement of €15 per room/day.
