July 2020 Royal Air Maroc Updates

Following the press release from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy authorizing air travel within the Kingdom, Royal Air Maroc announces the resumption of its domestic flights from Thursday June 25, 2020. According to a press release from the national airline, “the flights will be operated to the following destinations
-Casablanca-Laâyoune
-Casablanca-Dakhla
-Casablanca-Oujda
-Casablanca-Agadir ”.
RAM also announces that it will “gradually increase the number of frequencies and domestic destinations”

But I also found some news that shows they might be downsizing international travel but can’t fully validate that Royal Air Maroc will sell multiple aircraft and fire 858 employees. The information was confirmed by Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of the Moroccan airline.According to the magazine, approximately 180 pilots will depart. Also, 30 percent of the flight crew and 13 percent of the ground crew will have to leave. Hundreds of jobs will be cut at Royal Air Maroc subsidiaries. Royal Air Maroc also plans to sell some twenty aircraft, including four Embraer, four Dreamliner 787 and twelve B73 aircraft. The group currently owns a fleet of 59 aircraft.

  • Hadeel says:

The same situation with me, they did not reply to my email, even I did not receive an automatic reply confirming receiving my email. Additionally, I could not contact them by phone call. I asked to refund my ticket and my husband’s ticket who passed away during this period. I don’t know if I will get a refund or not and not sure if I can use my ticket after asking for a refund with no feedback! Our reservation is still there (not canceled) our flight was on 30th July, I asked for a refund because of my husband death not because of corona. I want to know if I can still use my ticket (even if I already asked for a refund) but sure they should refund my husband’s ticket and not give me a voucher. The other option for my husband’s ticket, if it is acceptable in this situation, that my daughter takes my husband’s ticket to travel with me to avoid the refund.
As a summary, I need to know three things:
    1. Is my refund request already processed and I cannot use my ticket, even if I changed my mind and decided to use my ticket?
    2. The ticket of my husband, who passed away in March, could be transferred to our daughter to avoid the ticket refund process?
    3. In case of a refund, the tickets were paid by my husbands credit card which is not related to a bank account (credit card was issued based on his salary without having a bank account for this credit card) and I asked in my email to the call center to pay the refund in my credit card as I can’t use my husband’s credit card because of his death. Will they follow my instructions or automatically the amount will be refunded in my husband’s credit card?
    Thank you.

      Greetings Hadeel,

We just wanted to say our condolences for your loss. We looked on Royal Air Maroc but think the best option would be is to use the service claim form https://www.royalairmaroc.com/int-en/information/service-claims several other airlines have said refunds aren’t possible after the departure date so try via the customer service complaint process.
      1) Sorry but only Royal Air Maroc knows if your refund request has been processed
      2) I would say you need to email callcenter@royalairmaroc.com to ask
      3) Likely you will need to speak with your husbands bank/credit card provider
