Update on Velocity Frequent Flyer redemption

You can now redeem Velocity Points on 152 routes with Reward Seat and Any Seat1 availability to some of our most popular Australian destinations including Ballina, Gold Coast and Hobart with these redemption bookings now available for travel.
Members can also now redeem ‘UpgradeMe’ Points with Virgin Australia2, enabling eligible seat upgrade into Business Class* where available.
Points redemption on Hotels3 is now available for travel and Europcar redemptions4 will be available for member bookings by 31 July 2020. Other redemption opportunities aren’t available for the time being.

1Reward Seats or Any Seats
The Points prices displayed are correct as at 20 July 2020 and are subject to change. Redemption bookings are based on a one-way Reward Seat, are subject to availability and to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions and must be booked through the Velocity Website. Taxes, fees and surcharges are payable at the time of booking. Taxes vary depending on carrier, city pair, fare class date and time of booking. A card payment fee may apply.
2UpgradeMe

All flight upgrades using complimentary fare upgrades are subject to the member Terms and Conditions.
In certain operational circumstances Virgin Australia Lounges may not be able to accept upgrade requests for departure from other airports. To be eligible for upgrades, all flights must be marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, and issued on Virgin Australia ticket stock (featuring a ticket number beginning with “795”). For operational reasons not all Business Class seats are made available for upgrades. This means that there may still be empty seats on departure.
*If you’re travelling in an eligible fare class, you can use Points to upgrade on Virgin Australia Domestic Flights. Due to current Covid-19 health measures, access to the Virgin Australia Lounge is currently unavailable, in addition to onboard Business Class catering. 3Hotel Redemption
The minimum Points required to make a booking for a hotel stay via Velocityfrequentflyer.com is 4,000 Velocity Points. The actual Points required vary depending on the hotel, time of booking and date for which the booking is made. The minimum amount of points required for a redemption may be changed from time to time. You can use your Points to cover a partial amount or the full amount of the hotel room rate including taxes and surcharges. Additional costs, such as in-room charges, early check-in, late check-out and upgrades are not included and must be paid at the time of hotel check-out. Where cash is used as part payment for the hotel room, Members earn 3 Points per $1 AUD spent. Velocity membership Terms and Conditions apply.
4Car Hire Redemption
Redemption on Europcar will be available to Velocity members by 31 July 2020.
Car Rental Rewards are governed by Europcar’s standard Rental Terms and Conditions applicable to the booking. You must be a Velocity Member to redeem Points for Car Rental Rewards with Europcar.
Redemption for Car Rental Rewards is only available for the following destinations: Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland, and is subject to availability at the time of booking. All redemptions are non-refundable and name changes are not permitted.
Car Rental Rewards can only be booked via Virgin Australia. The minimum Points level required to make a booking for a Car Rental Reward with Europcar is 4,000 Velocity Points. The maximum duration for redemption rentals is 28 days. The actual Points required will vary depending on the car type, time of booking and date for which the booking is mad. Redemption levels are subject to change at the discretion of VRPL.
You can use your Points to cover a partial amount or the full amount of the cost of the vehicle rental including taxes and surcharges. Additional costs, such as prepaid fuel, damage liability reduction options, additional kilometres, baby seats and GPS units are not included and must be paid at the time of collection of the vehicle. Changes to Car Rental Reward bookings can only be made by contacting CarTrawler directly on 02 8015 2643, and must be made at least 24 hours prior to the start date of the rental. Any changes made less than 24 hours prior to the start date of the rental (including not collecting the vehicle) will result in your Points being forfeited.
If you wish to change your rental to a smaller class of vehicle then any Points difference will be forfeited. Alternatively, if you:
a) upgrade your vehicle to a more expensive class; or
b) change your booking; and as a result of that change the price of the rental is greater than the original rental price, then you must pay the difference at the time of collection of the vehicle.
