Despite any bad reviews I read about staying on Long Beach would have to say for the slightly higher price than staying in the main tourist area the place and location is just magically.
Paradise Resort is a wonderful place to stay as it’s great to get away from the craziness that is Phi Phi and just chill on long beach, you may not get a perfect wifi signal but the hammocks by the beach make up for it. If you are needing a decent break to relax and unwind then this is the perfect location for you.
There was two restaurant options available so I usually went to one for breakfast and lunch and the other for dinner to get a good mix of menu options. The food quality is really quite good and you have to try and freshly made juice drinks they are heavenly.
The rooms also come with inroom digital safes big enough to put laptops and even a SLR, so rest assured you will have no issues or worries. The resort area is also very quite so not as many tourists so less likely to have issues and I always found the Thai people are very kind and honest.
The rooms are great and many offer water views which just completes a perfect stay, certainly you can pay 5-10 as much as stay at the place next door but you get the same view. You will have to remember to book a few days in advanced in order to get a place but it’s worth it.
Only downside is that you can have a bit of trouble sleeping if you are used to lots of noise at night, it’s just so damn peaceful. Certainly if you get the option you want to try and get the beach front units if they are available. The resort is fairly slow to respond to online bookings so consider ringing to make a reservation or take a risk and book when you arrive on the island.
I stayed here in August 2011 in a Bungalow.
